In most industries these days professionals who are hired as billable technical or professional staff soon will have to step up into sales roles as well. This move can be very shaky and many struggle with the task. Not to mention that I truly believe at any given time, no matter what profession we are in, we are always selling, ourselves and our business.
There are common complains heard in this regard such as: "I'm not good in starting a conversation. I just like to focus and accomplish my task. I don't like crowds. I don't have time." And on the other hand if all of this is overcome, there comes the follow up, next action plan, reaching out, staying connected and all the phenomenon that goes into sales.
